GeM in Brief

GeM is the acronym for the Gerontological Association of Malaysia. The Association  was founded in 1991 with the aim of promoting national awareness on old age and ageing issues and concerns. It is a professional fraternity of individuals who are working in or interested with the field of gerontology – a multidisciplinary discipline that examines the biological, medical, psychological, social, economic, cultural, technology and environmental aspects of human ageing. GeM is a registered body (No. 1222/91) with the Registrar of Societies and is managed by an elected Executive Committee.

GeM is affiliated with the International Association of Gerontology and Geriatrics (IAGG).
